Cityscapes: My experiences

What are some of the common features of cities? ( Think sounds, objects, smells)

• People- workers and business men
• Traffic
• Education/schools
• Grid of roads
• Constant developement
• Infastructure- public transport
• Busy/noisy/chaotic
• Skyscrapers
• People who are homeless
• Tourists
• Parks
• Fast food
• Statues/monuments
• Pollution
• Dense population
• Housing
• Trasportation

What makes a city a city?

Why are cities called cities and not towns? The definition of a city is literally ‘a large town’ while a ‘town’ is described as ‘a built-up area with a name, defined boundaries, and local government, that is larger than a village and generally smaller than a city’.

A city is generally bigger than a town, both in area and population. But what else is crutical in a city?

People are the most crusical element of a city because without people the city wouldn’t even run, there would be no city.  They must have a bustling atmosphere and, entertainment, Eateries- restaurant, fast food cafes. social clubs, roadworks. Cities have pollution, which is dammeging the world.

Cities are becoming more cosmopolitan because of globalisation. This means that they are becoming more similar in their urban build-up. You are unable to  see the stars clearly because of all the light pollution from all the buildings. I hope that in the future we can change this and make cities a nice place to live without pollution

Using five lines describe how cities make you feel? Think about your personal experiences 

Being in the city makes me feel very anxious and small. I think it is too busy and has too many people. It is far too loud. There are smells of pollution and there seems to always be a traffic jam somewhere. I can’t stand it and I would much prefer to live in the country.
